HK$ 4.5 Billion first half profit for Cathay

    Cathay it seems is set to post a first half year profit of HK$4.5 Billion despite flying less than 40% of it pre pandemic route network for the first 4 months of the year.
    This looks to be a very credible result given that the airline was virtually closed for some 30 months by Hong Kong’s harsh lockdown regulations.

    Still a very long way to go but this looks to be a great start

    I agree cwoodward, impressive results, and without the Air China stake dragging them down, they would have been considerably more profitable. Nice jump in the stock today, but still a long way to go for most equity holders to get back to profit.
