Hilton Hotels, Hilton Garden Inn and Hampton by Hilton, in the UK, are encouraging UK travellers to reduce the stress of air travel, and potentially save money, by booking its Park and Fly package.

This arrives after a poll of 5,000 people in the UK and Ireland revealed that 37% have missed one or more flights because they were late getting to the airport. For reasons such as, forgetting passports, oversleeping, traffic, etc.

Park and Fly package, offers an overnight stay in one of 12 hotels at or near airports across the UK and Ireland, with up to 15 days inclusive parking. For families there is the added benefit of kids staying and eating for free when sharing with an adult, plus complimentary use of the fitness centre, and swimming pools and spas where available.

It is interesting to know where they intend parking all the cars. A friend of mine booked a couple of nights at the HIE at Castle Donnington. When he arrived he had to drop off his family and park the car five minutes walk away.

On the second night he had to park on the grass. They had the cheek to charge him something like £4.50 a day and he couldn’t get in the car park!
