I’m meeting someone at Heathrow (who is coming in on the Heathrow express from Central London) to drive to a meeting in Birmingham and I don’t really want to go to the short term car park as we are not too sure of timings and it could be costly. I’ll be coming off the M25 from the south so wondered if anyone knew anywhere close by I can hang out until I can drive in to the pick up point?

    There’s a McDonald’s on the Bath Road.

There is always the Tesco superstore on the A312 Faggs Road opposite the North Feltham Trading estate and about 2 min from the Green Man

    The Green Man Pub

This is a firm favourte with BT forum readers who have attended the members meetings. The pub is situated near Hatton Cross station and the Jurys Inn hotel. The they have a resonable selection of drinks, very cheap food, lovely beer garden and you can even see the planes coming into land. Best of all they have free parking for patrons.

There are fines for using the McDonald’s car park and the are higher than short term parking.

My preference is for The Pheasant in Harlington (great food) It is north of the airport and about 7 minutes from Terminal 1.

If you just want to park up and wait then I’d suggest coming off M25 at J14 and park on B3113.

You mean the A3113. Avoid it at rush hour as it is always full of limo drivers or people carriers.

Otherwise pull up in to the Esso garage on the southern perimeter road (handy for T5) there is some parking near the exit usually full of plane spotters on weekends 😉
