It will be interesting to see which other airlines move in.

It is quite a long drive from Colombo Airport (to the north of the city) to the south of the island.

This new airport will also allow access to the previously out-of-bounds east coast.

This airport will really allow Sri Lanka to market its offering. As Alexpo said, it is on the south/east coast, enabling more direct access to some of Sri Lanka’s most beautiful and interesting attractions, and so flights to and from both Colombo and Hambantota allow greater scope for seeing more of the country and saving time.

Also Alexpo I like your post at 06.02 today! Have seen the latest Trailfinders brochure and the sigths and hotels look stunning.
