    Sir Tim Clark, Emirates chairman, yesterday revealed the airline’s expansion plans in this interview yesterday.

    will be interesting to see which new destinations EK will fly to.

    The article quoted above is pretty shoddy. A statement such as the one below needs to be qualified. If they are the largest airlne in the world, by what criterion?

    Emirates is the largest international airline in the world with a fleet of 270 aircraft, which includes 12 freight.

    It certainly isn’t largest by fleet, not even in the top 12.
    BY pax carried : Not in top 10
    By number of countries served : 5th.
    By number of routes/destinations : Not in top 10.
    By scheduled pax/km flown : 4th.

    Bit of a vague claim, maybe they mean the number of international pax (i.e. excluding domestic).

    There are plenty of cities in Africa/Asia opening up, however in my recent experience EK needs to focus a bit, too many minor delays and irritations creeping in.
