First time on Emirates and it was with some trepidation that we started the journey in cph bound for home in adl. Check in was slick and we had fast track security followed by the apartment lounge in cph with us being QF platinum. Boarding was by class and status, economy shown the benefits of status. The seat 5j/k was clean comfortable and although not lie flat was perfectly adequate for an afternoon flight to Dubai. Where emirates came brilliant was the food and service. Drinks orders taken and delivered individually, meal orders taken and no short falls. The food was top notch and bread basket offered frequently along with drink top ups (even to the point of new cans of coke being brought without having to ask – fresh glass of course!) Amenities were freely available and bathrooms well proportioned. One thing lacking if I could find a fault at all was the pjamas as per Qantas – if they truly want to offer the best service then perhaps look at that – they have the mattress and duvet why not go the whole hog with Pjs too? I couldn’t fault the plane, service, staff, food or ambience! A truly great trip on emirates for the first and not last time! Qantas no longer fly internationally from Adelaide for our routes, well done emirates you have a convert! And if the first class lounge prawn and tomato carpacio continues you are on to a winner!
