CrazyCanuckParticipantDear Cantona07,
The A380 is a great aircraft. The service can be a bit slow (EK trait) and please make sure that whatever you order actually turns up. They forget what you order sometime.
The J class is split into two cabins. The larger front in the middle and a smaller cabin in the back. The back opens (through a curtain) onto the bar at the back. If you want social activity go here, for less noise stay in the front.
I’m glad to see that you have seat 11A. The window seats are actually LONGER then the two middle seats. However if you are travelling with someone take the middle seats.
Happy flying.

Markuk2003ParticipantHi, I am a 23a man, which is in the end cabin. I have lots of space and it’s not far from the bar. Great plane with great service! PS remember to check out the lounge at Manchester. It one of the best in the business (and yes I have seen a few in my time) and the food is great.

Tom OtleyKeymasterHello,
I’ve flown business on the A380 a couple of times and the reviews are here
http://www.businesstraveller.com/news/tried-and-tested-exclusive-emirates-a380
and here
http://www.businesstraveller.com/tried-and-tested/airlines/emirates/emirates-a380-800-business-class
the main point is that half the seats have less leg room than the other half because of the design, but you obviously have realised that from your comment about window seats having more room.
as regards cabin choice,
Which cabin? The rear cabin is smaller but it backs onto the bar and lounge. Obviously it depends, but on my flight this area gradually became busier, and when I went back there 90 minutes before landing, everyone seemed to be enjoying a very convivial atmosphere. The rear cabin is more intimate, but because it is behind the engines there may be some disturbance from them, as well as from people from the front business class cabin walking through to use the washrooms at the rear. On my flight, there seemed to be more families with children and babies at the back, so I would choose the one at the front. That said, if you are with colleagues and intend to socialise, the rear cabin is the place to be.
Here are seat plans for both configurations of the A380 t(the second has more economy class seating):

JohnPeavoyParticipantA combination of seatguru and seatexpert plans (links below) make for interesting reading and reference….

Finally, was your retort to Bucksnet really warranted? He/she merely made some suggestions on routing. No need to be short with them imho.

excessbaggageParticipantCantona07 – I think JohnPeavoy is merely saying that the manner of the retort was perhaps a little harsh. You may find yourself in need of more advice in the future on this forum, and being impolite is not the best way to obtain it…

EU_FlyerParticipantNot to add fuel to the fire, but Canton7, that was damn rude. I support excessbaggage and bullfrog here.
This isn’t a facist dictatorship where you shoot people down who make friendly suggestions.
Learn some decency otherwise you may find yourself moving from 11A to 88D quick smart.

BucksnetParticipantThe Emirates A380 service to Manchester was recently the subject of BT’s route of the month.
