A viaduct has been damaged north of Newcastle by recent bad weather.

Repairs might take some time. In the meantime trains have minor delays.

Unfortunately some structural damage has been found to Plessey Viaduct which carries trains over the River Blyth 12 miles north of Newcastle.

Trains are running but with some delays as services in both directions will have to use the northbound line, at restricted speed. 1/2 pic.twitter.com/e4z9zUgziH
