There’s obviously lots going on over at Waterworld.

Not only have they sneakily purchased L’Avion, but also now announcing a tie-up with Iberia while continuing discussions with Another AAirline over a Joint Venture.

Apparently, a big announcement is likely from Willie in the coming days.

Could be the IB announcement, more info on the AA Joint Venture, further fleet expansion plans (unlikely right now IMHO) or something altogether more left field.

How about EasyJet taking over BAs generally lossmaking domestic and shorthaul services exLGW. These are the poorer cousins, offering shabby aged aircraft for the most part.

Easyjet has already taken over GB Airways, an LGW leisure stalwart, and further route re-allocation to the low cost carrier would allow BA to concentrate on what it does well; longhaul premium business and leisure traffic.

    Time will tell.

If Easyjet does take over BA Shorthaul at LGW then let’s home it will begin offering seat selection.
