Isn’t it the case that at other stations, first class is in the “right place”?

A walk along the platform isn’t really a hardship, although at St. Pancras it feels like the platforms are miles away!

Possibly at Sheffield but it is not at London, Nottingham, Leicester and it is debateable at Derby. In the case of both Nottingham and Derby the carriages would be a fair walk away from the first class lounge.

“A walk along the platform isn’t really a hardship” well it is if you are not that good on your feet and have booked first class on the basis that it will be near the buffers. On a previous journey an elderly lady opposite me spent the first 20 minutes getting over the walk.
