Passengers on this AA flight won’t be going anywhere this afternoon.

One of its 787s was damaged this afternoon when an airbridge collapsed at Dublin airport.

AA statement reported by media in Ireland.

“An aircraft was damaged due to a jetbridge malfunction at Dublin. No customers or crew were on board at the time and there were no reported injuries.

“We are sending replacement aircraft to operate Flight 723 which is expected to depart tomorrow afternoon [Monday]”

I wonder whether EU261 applies (for compensation), for a 24-hour delay. Presumably AA aren’t responsible – but will Dublin airport cough up?

What happens now to get it repaired? I’m intrigued as to what happens. Anyone know?

It’s been sent to the BBC’s “The Repair shop” series!

No doubt it will come out more quaint and lovable…
