Although not yet officially confirmed by Cathay several media and the Cathay country manager and airport itself have said that Cathay soon will again fly to Clark Airbase.
The ex USAF airport is about 90k from Manila and connected by a good expressway and an (under construction) rail link.
The expanded airport terminal is new and traffic both long and short haul is rapidly increasing. There is also talk that the second long parallel runway is going to be reconditioned and reopened.

Prior to the pandemic this was a Cathay and sometimes Dragon Air destination and CX also used the airports then underused long runway for pilot training.

Vishnu Rajendran, the airline’s country manager for the Philippines, told the Philippine Inquirer they were “hoping to resume operations and service flights from Clark as they did prior to the pandemic.”
