It seems a crucial improvement is about to be implemented at CDG. Details are on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GbSbdWGPZHE (in French with English subtitles). In a nutshell, 2F will be only Schengen (so no more dreadful – notably because of the packed lounge – long haul departure from there), and 2E will have an additional satellite (S3, twin brother of S2, which is the rectangular building located on the side of CDG 2). And it won’t be necessary to go again through security when transiting… Opening this summer…
The French need to appreciate that 52% of CDG passengers are connecting thru. Transfers within to different terminals are so uncomfortale and plagued with poor direction signs The worst part is going thru slow protracted security with officers treating passengers like dirt especially if they do not speak French ,let alone the carlessness about speed and time since they act in a unionized pace !!
Oasis, these improvements are IMV precisely dealing with improving connections…
Today, gates numbers changed at CDG. They are using letters K, L and M that are indicating whether the gate is in 2E (in front of 2F), S3 (perpendicular to 2E and 2F) or S4 (to be open in a couple of months.
