From 5th December the airline will resume operating a first class.

Given current airfares, I wonder what the price point will be?. Nevertheless good to see

At or around £10k would be my guess.

I seem to recall CX gave QR a bunch of their 777-300ER’s earlier in the year. Will they be returned anytime soon as a result of the relaunch of First?

The 777 were not ‘given’ to QR of course they were ‘lent’ by Cathay to QR at a time when they would otherwise have been sitting in the desert in AU or Spain. I am told by a Cathay contact that they are returning as needed by CX.

Esselle good estimate. Below published fare is £9.6k – some agencies may have fares a little lower:

    1 . CX 252 A 08DEC LHRHKG HS1 1115 #0740 O E TH/FR
    2 . CX 251 A 15DEC HKGLHR HS1 2220 #0500 O E TH/FR

Full First Class (booking code F) is over £13k.

Cheaper to actually fly all the way to Sydney (with onward legs in Business).
