With only one day available, I would suggest prioritizing Gyeongbokgung Palace, Insadong, and Myeongdong to get a well-rounded experience of Seoul’s culture, shopping, and attractions. A tour of Gyeongbokgung Palace will give you insight into Korea’s royal heritage through its beautifully preserved buildings and grounds. Nearby, Insadong is perfect for immersing yourself in traditional crafts, art galleries, tea shops, and local cuisine. Myeongdong, as Seoul’s premier market and retail district, offers the opportunity to explore bustling alleys of stores and taste numerous street foods. Between these three areas, you can experience the best of what Seoul has to offer within your limited timeframe. After a busy day exploring Seoul, you may want to relax over dinner or a few drinks. Itaewon is a great neighborhood for both eating and socializing. However, be cautious not to overindulge, as you will want to ensure you are well-rested for your flight the next day. Drinking too much alcohol increases the risk of oversleeping and missing your departure. While enjoying Itaewon’s nightlife scene is tempting, be mindful of maintaining a schedule that allows you to feel refreshed and on time for your travel home.
