This is not caused by generalised low demand.

These cancellations are part of the normal seasonal reductions, largely relating to the Christmas/New Year period when business demand is lower. Similar changes are put in place every year:

As of 23JUL12, updated list of British Airways’ routine reductions during Winter 2012/13 period on Trans-Atlantic flights as follows. Routes or flights marked with * represents newly added cancellations since last report on Airline Route on 18JUL12.

Note these are routine reductions although some flights are seeing expanded reductions. Pending on operational issues and booking demand, the airline may reinstate some of these cancelled flights.

“HonestCrew” you should be ashamed of yourself – what a disgraceful thing to say about Mixed Fleet crew. Get over yourself and stop believing what you hear on BASSA FM. We only have MF because of BASSA’s intransigence in the first place so enough of the smugness thank you.

Amazing information from VintageKrug as ever – quite brilliant, thank you!!

As a passenger, how does one tell Mixed Fleet crew from BASSA ones in the first place? Routes? Different coloured uniform?

Oh dear Flyer2012. How little you know about the reasons for MF.

Let me tell you…. I live in Lisbon, a MF route. Every week I fly to and from LHR. I doubt there is a person on this earth who has flown on more MF flights and quite frankly I am sick of it. I am sick of the cheap service, the mistakes, the misinformation given to passengers, the poor PA’s, the lack of knowledge to answer even the simplest of questions passengers pose.
I see it week in week out.
I have witnessed some medical situations so badly handled you would not believe it.

I give 110% every time I come to work. I want the best for the customers who pay a hell of a lot of money to fly BA. Believe me, if MF was the way forward I’d have joined them!

MF was created during an era of BA’s top brass not giving a monkey’s about customer service and it is crystal clear to those who know the full in’s and out’s of this situation, it is NOT the way forward,

I have no beef with the crew themselves, it is not their fault. There are some good, committed and hard working people in MF. Some passengers may have seen this themselves, but I will stand my ground having flown over 100 sectors with MF crew, it makes me angry, sad and disappointed that BA is going in this direction.

Sorry for this passionate post but when someone says ‘shame on you’ I must pipe up and put things right.

Something tells me that “HonestCrew” (?!) and I are not destined to be in agreement on much…

I will just say that this is not the place to air such grievances. It looks and sounds grossly unprofessional. Perhaps we should leave it there..
