If you are so bothered, take the window seat and then you have control.

PS: in my book , compromise = blind halfway shut.

From the Concise Oxford Dictionary “an agreement reached by each side making concessions. Ø an intermediate state between conflicting opinion”

Maybe in your little world FDOS, but in the real world ‘take the window seat’ isn’t always an option. I’ve just booked a Dubai to Nice for Friday am – flight almost fully booked and seated.

Do you carry a ruler to measure what is half closed 😉

No, most people can estimate that to an order of magnitude sufficiently well to know what is ‘half closed.’

If you book late, you have to accept what’s left, I will probably book MAN-DXB-MXP tomorrow, for the weekend and it will be Hobson’s choice.

It’s still not the window seat pax fault that you (or I) booked late and if they want the window blind up, it’s their choice.
