Sorry it is Romaji but this forum does not support Kana/Kanji character sets.

It is some years since I was last there but I’d agree with Ian – the airport limo buses are simpler for the novice traveller in Tokyo (as I was and am), as the main hotels are served door-to-door.

I think there was/maybe still is a special suicacard + NEX (Oystercard-alike) and a desk in Narita did sell these but it all seemed too complicated at the time in the absence of someone like Rich to advise.

A fascinating city, country and people and I wish I had had more time to explore.

    ???? !
edit: no luck with the kanji either, so “Happy Travels!”

BA Gold member can use new JAL First class lounge. I have used the facilities a few times now as a BA passenger. I also had a complimentary shoulder massage. Both SAKURA (biz) lounge and First class lounge are located in the same space but a representative usually leads eligible passenger to the first class lounge.

Video of the lounge can be found at: http://www.jal.co.jp/narita-t2/lounge/
BUT this is a Japanese page. The first video is First class lounge, and the second is Biz lounge.

For those who find Japanese difficult, this will translate text (though not pictures).

Just back from Narita yesterday. BA uses the JAL lounge in Terminal 2, on the right as you leave passport control. First class is on the same level, business down an escalator on the right. Both were busy – first class showers were full so went down to the business ones – business lounge seems more airy/spacious (if you can get a seat). Plenty of scrambled egg, coffee and or champagne for a pre-flight breakfast.

Flew back from Narita last Friday. The JAL First Class Lounge was right opposite the (politest) fast track security section. The lounge itself was large and – despite having a two hour delay on the BA006 – never got too full. Plenty of seats, well spaced and enough privacy as well as plenty of natural light through the double aspect windows. Important things first of all: the house Champagne was Duval Leroy Fleur du Champagne. Perfectly nice drop, lots of it, well chilled and decent glassware. The bar selection on the whole was excellent. Breakfast was available but this quickly turned into lunch where there was an excellent selection of Japanese food: ramen with broth, grilled fish with miso paste, Japanese beef curry, as well as some Chinese food like hot and sour soup and Singapore noodles. Western options were also available but frankly who wants Minestrone soup in Japan? Not sure I even want it when in Italy. Anyway, the lounge was perfectly comfortable and I whiled away 4 hours in there while waiting for the flight. The flight was called and the numerous, very attentive JAL lounge staff personally escorted me to the gate which was no more than a 2 minute walk away. First passengers were boarded separately and as it was a new-ish extended range 777 we had a separate pier. The BA crew were delightful as always and the new First seat is pretty much faultless (I know others disagree but I slept like a baby and managed to get some work done with more than enough personal space to spread my work out). All in all a great experience that I look forward to repeating next month.
