Avanti West Coast – How to provide **** service

    Travelled today, with a combination of GWR, Cross Country and Avanti, all in 1st class on a journey of circa 4 hours.

    GWR were on time, on a very short connection, Cross Country provided complimentary coffee, crisps, sandwich and cake and crew were pleasant to boot.

    Avanti? Late, never saw a crew member, but received a perfunctory tannoy announcement saying that there will be no shop or service in 1st class due to staff shortages.

    To add insult to injury, the return 1741 Warrington to Wolverhampton service I have an issued ticket for now leaves at 1746, takes longer and thus misconnects with the onward service.

    These guys need to partner with BA, they’d complement each other very well.

    FDOS – I note you couldn’t resist an opportunity to criticise BA even if it doesn’t involve them !!!
