This is probably aimed at our train expert AMcWhirter, but experiences from all gratefully received.

My family are booked on the GWR Sleeper Service on 31 May from Paddington to Penzance. They then have onward boat tickets for the connecting boat to the Isles of Scilly the next morning. This is one of the named ASLEF strike days.

My question is whether GWR prioritise the overnight sleeper service over other trains so that I can try to decide whether to consider alternatives – although there arent many really.

    Many thanks.

Currently, the timetable says it may not run but checking every other strike day, the sleeper has been cancelled entirely and refunds have been offered. Although only GWR can give a definitive answer, I would assume it will not operate, even on days after strikes, there are no through trains from London to Penzance
