So here is a tricky one….

I would rather not spend £7K flying 6 of us to CPT for Christmas. However, while have plenty Avios there is shortage of reward availability. There are children in the party so we have to be on same flight. Dates flexible apart from cannot leave UK until 19th and need to be back by 8/9th. I had thought of using avios to fly to Dubai then SA and back via Doha, as some availability there. However, anyone got any alternative routings to consider?

    Many thanks as always.

Not sure what your exec tier is but that was for Gold member where additional seats are released.

You didn’t say whether and what BAEC status you might have. If Avios availability is not an issue and you have BAEC Gold, have you seen this?

    Try with Qatar via Doha.

“Iberia has announced a new ‘three flights per week’ service from Madrid to Johannesburg from August 2016”

Could be an option but not sure when they release redemption seats for a new service. Onward from JNB to CPT with BA franchise Comair, two hour connection.
