This month Business Traveller has teamed up with Gondwana Game Reserve in South Africa’s Western Cape, to offer one lucky reader and guest a luxury two-night stay including breakfast, lunch, dinner, afternoon tea and daily morning and afternoon game drives.
Gondwana Game Reserve provides the perfect safari break for Cape Town visitors and residents. Less than a four-hour drive away along South Africa’s popular Garden Route, the 11,000-hectare (26,000 acre) private game reserve offers a distinctive and luxurious malaria-free safari experience.
Indigenous Fynbos vegetation cloaks the undulating valleys, adding vivid colour and interest to a Big Five wilderness experience with awe inspiring views of the Langeberg Mountains wherever you look. Our expert field guides reveal Africa’s wildlife to Gondwana’s guests in a Cape Fynbos environment; a truly unique safari experience!
Exhilarating encounters on game drive with endangered species like the Cheetah, Cape Mountain Zebra, and Rhinoceros will provide lasting memories. Fifteen species of antelope can be found on the reserve including kudu, eland, gemsbok, bontebok, Grey Reebok, sable and many more. The free roaming Big 5 species also keep things interesting with many visits to the lodge from the elephant and lion!
Deluxe accommodation for couples is offered in Kwena lodge, a modern and luxurious twist on the traditional Khoi-San dwelling. 14 open plan suites are nestled into the spectacular surrounds with 180-degree views, sky lights for star gazing, clay pot fireplaces and deep baths to keep you warm upon return from an evening game drive.
The spacious lodge facilities include a large infinity pool, spa, chic open-plan lounge and bar, with food and beverage services offered in an elegant dining room set around 2 open fireplaces or in the outdoor boma.
Family or group accommodation is ideally provided in 12 spacious bush villas (3 and 4 bedrooms) which are privately situated with awe-inspiring views from your expansive deck. The deluxe three and four bedroom villas feature an open plan lounge with kitchen and dining room all opening onto a wraparound deck with magnificent valley and mountain views.
Numerous packages to suit your needs and budget are on offer: Full Board inclusive of all your meals and game drives, Half Board which includes breakfast, dinner and one game drive, or the Bed and Breakfast and daily game drive package.
The villas can be utilized on a luxury self-catering basis with a la carte meals and game drives available for those who want a longer stay and the flexibility to enjoy the surrounding Garden Route, its activities and attractions.
This exclusive reserve offers guests attentive service, superb cuisine, inspiring interiors, expert game rangers, and an array of activities including mountain biking, fishing, spa treatments and the popular Junior Ranger programme.
