The Hoxton is set to open its second hotel in Italy later this year, located in Florence.

Located on Via delle Mantellate, the hotel will be split across two buildings – a 16th century palazzo with its original facade and vaulted arcade, and a 1980s Andrea Branzi-designed building with a timber slatted facade – and connected by an open-air courtyard with a fountain and landscaped gardens.

The 161 rooms will be divided across the two buildings, with different design schemes to reflect their location. There will also be a range of room types, with some including views of the Duomo while others will include outdoor bathtubs or landscaped terraces. Guests can also choose to book a duplex-style category, complete with a lounge and spiral staircase.

In a first for the brand, the property will also feature a three-bedroom apartment (known as the ‘House’ category) with its own kitchen, lounge and private courtyard. The category will also feature at The Hoxton, Edinburgh when the property opens in the future.

Dining venues will include Italian restaurant Alassio on the ground floor, spread across a dining room, vaulted winter garden and courtyard, and cosy wine bar Enoteca Violetta.

The property will also house two event spaces, including a 90 sqm vaulted wine cellar in the basement – with two connecting rooms and a feature bar – and a 130 sqm rooftop terrace with its own bar. The courtyard will also be available for private hire.

The Hoxton already has a property in the city of Rome, which opened in 2021 within the neighbourhood of Parioli.

The Hoxton brand launched in London’s Shoreditch in 2006 and is part of Ennismore, in which Accor holds a majority stake. The brand currently has 16 properties open across Europe and North America, with the latest opening in Vienna.
