Food and hospitality firm ERGON has announced plans to debut its ERGON House brand in London, its first hotel location outside of Greece.

The group is set to unveil a boutique hotel within a listed building on the corner of King Street and Garrick Street in the capital’s Covent Garden district next year.

The property will offer around 20 guest rooms, as well as a fitness centre and rooftop restaurant with alfresco terrace.

The hotel will also feature the brand’s Agora marketplace, where “bakers, butchers, fishmongers, and greengrocers will bring farm-to-table produce to visitors”.

The property is situated just around the corner from Z Hotel Covent Garden – which we reviewed in 2019 – and other nearby hotels including Henrietta Hotel and St Martins Lane Hotel.

The group currently has a portfolio of 25 owned and franchised Mediterranean delis, restaurants, markets and hotels in Greece, the UK, Cyprus and the Middle East, including ERGON Deli on London’s Maddox Street, and ERGON House hotel in Athens (pictured above).

The firm said that it was looking to grow the ERGON House brand within Europe following its successful opening in Greece.

The property will join well known brands on King Street – located close to Covent Garden shopping centre and the Royal Opera House – including Jo Malone London, Polo Ralph Lauren and Petersham Nurseries.

Commenting on the news Thomas Douzis, founder and CEO of ERGON, said:

“ERGON House Covent Garden marks a significant milestone for us. It represents our dedication and commitment to providing a memorable, one-of-akind experience for guests, and marks a new era in our journey.

“We chose Covent Garden for our first location in the UK because of its strong reputation in retail and F&B. It offers a unique opportunity for us with local and international visitors, and the solid cultural foundation it has cultivated. We look forward to embedding ourselves within the West End.”
