Hainan Airlines plans to resume its Brussels – Shanghai (Pudong) service from 18 June.

The four-weekly service to Shanghai will be the airline’s third route linking Brussels with China, following Beijing and Shenzhen.

Hainan Airlines plans to operate a two-class Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner on Shanghai-Brussels, with 30 1-2-1 business class and 262 3-3-3 economy class seats, based on its latest schedule filings.

The airline currently has approximately 30 787-9s in service, with some featuring a less attractive 2-2-2 configuration in business class.

From Pudong, the 12-hour flights will depart every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 0210 and arrive in Brussels at 0810.

The return flights will depart Brussels at 1200 and arrive back in Shanghai the following morning at 0500.

Hainan Airlines currently operates more than 40 international and regional passenger routes from its hubs in Beijing, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Haikou, Chongqing, Xi’an, Changsha, Taiyuan, Dalian, Guangzhou, and Hangzhou.

In related news, on 6 April, Singapore Airlines returned to Brussels after a hiatus of more than 20 years.
