In an act of goodwill and community support during the month of Ramadan, The Department of Civil Aviation, Sharjah, distributed a large number of iftar meals to the public this week. Part of an annual initiative, the distribution was done in collaboration with Sharjah Police as a joint effort in social responsibility, and honouring the charitable values of Ramadan.

HE Sheikh Khalid bin Essam Al Qasimi, chairman of the department of civil aviation, Sharjah, said: “This initiative reflects the Department of Civil Aviation’s commitment to enhancing the values of giving, which increases in importance during the holy month of Ramadan, and fostering a culture of corporate social responsibility. Such charitable and community events are important to instil values of tolerance, solidarity, encourage volunteerism, and generosity rooted in the Emirati society’s authentic traditions”.

The initiative saw the two collaborating authorities distribute 500 iftar meals to pedestrians and passersby just before the Maghrib prayer took place on 27 March, near Matajer Al Juraina, a shopping mall in the UAE northern emirate of Sharjah.
