Jetblue has unveiled its revamped True Blue frequent flyer programme, which includes members now earning Mosaic tier status through a combination of travel and credit card spend.

Mosaic Qualifying Points are being retired from spring 2023, to be replaced by a new system of ‘Tiles’ and four Mosaic tier levels.

Members will earn one Tile for every $100 spent on flights (including American Airlines-operated services), holiday packages and add-ons, as well as one Tile for every $1,000 spent on Jetblue credit cards.

The entry level Mosaic 1 (from 50 Tiles) includes “perks” including two free checked bags, inflight alcoholic drinks, priority security and upgrades on the Heathrow Express, while Mosaic 2 (from 100 Tiles) also includes seats with up to seven inches more legroom at no extra charge during booking (subject to availability).

Mosaic 3 (from 150 Tiles) includes four complimentary upgrades to the carrier’s Mint seating, and finally Mosaic 4 (from 250 Tiles) also includes Blade airport helicopter transfers.

When members reach a new Mosaic level they can also choose an additional perk including a pet fee waiver, $99 credit card statement credit, 15,000 bonus True Blue points, or the option to get or gift a 20-Tile boost.

Customers yet to reach the Mosaic 1 level can also choose from a list of perks for every ten Tiles they earn up to 50 Tiles, including early boarding, priority security, an inflight alcoholic drink or 5,000 bonus True Blue points.

Note that there are no changes to the way True Blue points are earned or redeemed against flights.

Jetblue said that when the revamped programme launches “Mosaic members will be assigned a Mosaic level based on how much they spent in 2022 or how much they spent in 2023, whichever is greater”.

Commenting on the news Robin Hayes, chief executive officer, Jetblue, said:

“Our loyalty programme must serve the needs of the Jetblue customer today, many of whom look to us as more than just a way to get from point A to point B.

“Customers have come to love our unique combination of low fares and high-quality service, and now turn to us for more than just a flight. We are evolving our loyalty strategy to deliver even more value for customers across our entire suite of travel products and partnerships, including those who take advantage of our strategic partnership with American Airlines.”
