Waldorf Astoria Hotels and Resorts opened a new property in the Qatari capital of Doha earlier this week.

The Waldorf Astoria Lusail, Doha is located in Lusail’s Entertainment City, and is a 20-minute drive from the airport and 10 minutes from Doha’s central business district.

The resort features a combination of 429 guest rooms, suites, and one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments.

Its culinary offerings include Sushisamba, which is a blend of Japanese, Brazilian and Peruvian cuisine, and will be the brand’s first beach club experience.

New York based LDV Hospitality’s Italian dining concept, Scarpetta, is also present on the property. Other food and beverage options include contemporary brasserie concept ByWater, poolside venue Praia, wellness concept Wyld Erth, and The Highmore which is inspired by an original members only London club.

The familiar Peacock Alley is Waldorf Astoria’s signature meeting place and serves afternoon tea, specialty pastries, and artisan dishes.

As for its leisure facilities, there are three swimming pools – one for adults, one for families, and another for children – as well as a dedicated FlowRider surf area, Aloha Surf Club. It also has a 200-metre stretch of private beach access for guests.

Younger guests can access the Wadi Lusail Waterpark, featuring waterslides, play areas and an adventure trail. The outdoor playground Kunuz Kids’ and Teens’ Club ensures that this property is a family-friendly resort.

For the first time in the Middle East, ESPA Life delivers a holistic wellness experience by way of providing 19 treatment rooms and suites, extensive hydro-thermal facilities, and advanced fitness, nutrition and grooming facilities.

Waldorf Astoria Lusail, Doha also offers meetings and events spaces, including a boardroom, meeting rooms and a ballroom which can accommodate up to 750 guests, as well as outdoor garden spaces that can hold up to 850 guests.

Regionally, Hilton recently opened a new Waldorf Astoria in Kuwait. The the 200-key Waldorf Astoria Kuwait, is connected to The Avenues, Kuwait’s largest retail, entertainment, and lifestyle destination.

Hilton also announced the signing of an agreement with Star Hill Tanger SA to open the Waldorf Astoria Tanger. It will be the first Waldorf Astoria brand to open in Morocco, and is scheduled to do so by 2025.
