Vueling has launched a new inflight dining menu, offering more plant-based and gluten-free options.

New options on the menu include a vegan mezze box (€5.50) filled with rosemary crackers, a roasted red pepper dip, seasoned green olives, hummus and baklava; a quinoa salad with chickpeas and mint (€4.75); a vegan and gluten-free double chocolate, hazelnut and banana cookie and a gluten-free chocolate brownie.

The menu, which is available across all of Vueling’s routes, also includes a sustainable incentive initiative to reduce the use of single-use packaging on board. Customers who bring their own cup will save 50 cents on the purchase of their drink. Vueling is also offering passengers a complimentary hot or soft drink if they purchase a 270 ml reusable cup (€6) or a 550 ml reusable aluminium bottle (€8).

Vueling states:

“We are committed to making our range more sustainable by eliminating plastic from items such as stirrers, straws and cutlery. We are also working with providers to list products with packaging made of sustainable or recyclable materials and made receipts available online to save paper.”

According to the airline, more than 800 tonnes of plastic in 2021 were eliminated thanks to the introduction of eco-friendly materials in its cabin packaging.
