Five more airlines are moving to Manchester airport’s new Terminal 2 extension, following its opening last week.
The Terminal 2 extension welcomed its first flights last week, operated by Jet 2, TUI and Singapore Airlines.
Etihad Airways, Qatar Airways, and Brussels Airlines have joined the facility today, while Air Baltic will move to the terminal on July 21, followed by Ethiopian Airlines on July 22.
Air Baltic is new to Manchester airport, with its services to Riga in Latvia having launched earlier this month.
This news coincides with the lifting of travel restrictions for double vaccinated Brits, who can now travel to ‘amber’ list countries without having to quarantine upon return (with the exception of France).
The airport states that further airlines will move to the new extension “as summer progresses and international travel restrictions ease”, with updates communicated via its social media channels.
The extension will also see the opening of a new M&S store in Terminal Two Arrivals on July 21, followed by the opening of an Accessorize shop in Departures on July 22. Further units will open as more airlines move across.

“As the Government continues to cautiously lift the lid on international travel restrictions, and gives more freedom to double vaccinated passengers, its great to see more of our airline partners resume services, increase frequencies and move across to their new home in Terminal Two.
“Not only will opening the new terminal help with our Covid-19 recovery, as passenger demand hopefully increases as more countries are added to the green list, but it will also give our customers the best experience as they jet off on their holidays.
“We understand many people haven’t flown in a long time due to the pandemic, but I’d like to reassure all our customers as we continue to implement the highest quality Covid-19 safety measures across Manchester Airport.”
As previously reported, the first phase of the T2 extension project had been due to open in summer 2020, but this was postponed following the onset of Covid-19.
