India’s Covid-19 contact tracing app, Aarogya Setu has announced a new feature called ‘Open API Service’ that will help the businesses to resume operations while ensuring safety.
The feature “addresses the fear/risk of Covid-19 infections and helps the people, businesses and the economy to return to normalcy,” reads an official statement by the Government of India.
Companies and organisations can use this service to query the Aarogya Setu application in real-time and get the health status of their employees or any other Aarogya Setu user, without violating their data privacy.
The health status and name of the Aarogya Setu user (with his/her consent) will only be given. No other personal data shall be provided through the platform.
The Open API Service of Aarogya Setu can be availed by business entities, who are registered in India with more than 50 employees. Firms can register by clicking here.
As per the latest data, Aarogya Setu has over 15 crore users currently.
