Further ramping up the repatriation mission, India’s civil aviation minister Hardeep Singh Puri has announced the plan for its fifth phase, which is set to begin from August 1 and will be carried out until August 31, 2020.
Vande Bharat Mission’s (VBM) phase 5 will connect India with USA, Canada, Qatar, Oman, UAE, Singapore, UK, Frankfurt, Paris, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, New Zealand and the Philippines among others.
National carrier Air India has announced flight schedule from August 1 to August 6, click here for details. The airline has also updated schedule regarding their India-Europe and India-US routes. These flights are set to operate between August1-31. Details here.
In a tweet, Puri said, “More than 814K stranded Indians have returned through various means under VBM since May 6, out of which more than 270K returned on flights from 53 countries.
“In a dynamic process, we will continue to add more flights and destinations to reach out to even more people around the world.”
Bookings by other India-based private airlines are likely to be announced soon.
