Taiwanese start-up carrier Starlux Airlines has unveiled its first ever safety video animated in 3D called “Star Wonderers”.
The safety video, produced on a budget of NTD 30 million (US$0.98 million), features a “Starlux Universe” with a virtual Starlux terminal, aircraft and “Star Wonderers” – passengers from different planets, such as the egg-shaped robot “E-boy”, the “Single-eye Family”, the bag-looking “Backpacker”, and music lovers “DJ. Raga” and “Migo”.
According to Taiwan local news website udn.com, Nieh Kuo-wei, public relations manager of Starlux Airlines, said each aircraft type will feature its own version of the safety video, and the current version will be available on its A321neo aircraft.
The safety video that will be played on the airline’s A350 aircraft, the first of which is slated for delivery from late 2021, will be slightly edited based on the current version.
Besides the Chinese-English version, the airline also produced two other versions in Chinese and Japanese, as well as in sign language. The airline said the safety video in sign language will be available on its in-flight entertainment system.
Starlux Airlines will launch its first flight on January 23, 2020, and its inaugural destinations include Macau, Da Nang in Vietnam and Penang in Malaysia.
