Air Canada has opened a new casual airport lounge concept at its Toronto Pearson International airport hub.

The new Air Canada Cafe complements but does not replace the airport’s existing Maple Leaf Lounges and the new Express Lounge for business travellers.

The facility is located in the airport’s domestic gate area and will offer Air Canada’s premium-level customers a selection of hot and cold beverages and grab-and-go food items, along with wifi and bistro-style seating.

Baristas will serve Lavazza coffee, fresh juices, cold-brew “mocktails”, tea, soft drinks, and other non-alcoholic beverages.

Food choices include Lindt chocolates, OKA cheeses, and Gouter pastries. Light breakfast food, including yogurt and pastries, will be served before 1100, with sandwiches and salads laid out after this time.

The cafe will also provide free access to digital versions of more than 7,000 newspapers and magazines. A large mural by Canadian artist Shawn Evans provides a focal point for the cafe’s decor.

The 109-seat cafe is located at gate D20 and will be open seven days a week. It will also have restrooms and a customer service desk.
