Vistara is to acquire 16 aircraft from the fleet of temporarily shut Jet Airways. This move is aimed at strengthening the Tata SIA airline’s international expansion plans — the aircraft will be used for long haul international flights to Europe and North America. However, there has been no official confirmation on this yet.

Vistara may acquire ten Boeing 777 planes in addition to few Boeing 737s and Airbus A33 wide-body planes.

Furthermore, the airline has ordered six Boeing 787 Dreamliners, which will be inducted from January 2020.

Apart from acquiring aircraft from the grounded airline, Vistara is also said to offer jobs to 500 people primarily from Jet Airways—100 are pilots and 400 are cabin crew members. Recently, the airline also conducted a two-day recruitment drive simultaneously in Mumbai and Gurugram.
