The Montcalm Hotel Group has added its eighth London property, with the rebranding of the former Shaftesbury Premier London Paddington.

Located on Westbourne terrace close to Paddington rail and Underground station, the Georgian townhouse property features 124 rooms with Frette bed linen, iPod docking stations, free wifi and international calls to selected countries, and the intriguingly promised “Vitamin C infused showers” in selected rooms.

Facilities include an all-day dining restaurant, lobby library, bar, gym, spa and yoga suite.

The Chilworth is the first townhouse property in Montcalm’s portfolio – the group originates from the Montcalm hotel on Great Cumberland Place close to Marble Arch Underground station, which reopened in 2010 following extensive refurbishment.

Since then the group has added properties including the Montcalm at Brewery London City, Montcalm Royal London House, and the M by Montcalm London Shoreditch Tech City.

Commenting on the latest opening the group said:

“We’re proud to play a part in the Paddington area’s renaissance by restoring a classic English townhouse as London’s newest boutique hotel. We wanted to create somewhere our guests can feel a real sense of belonging whenever they’re in town, equally at home relaxing in the cosy bar or sociable lobby lounge as in their room.

“Enlightened luxury means looking after guests’ wellbeing too, so as well as an urban spa and gym, we’ve invested in amenities like a wellbeing ambassador, always on hand to help guests towards their lifestyle goals, even away from home.”
