UAE carrier Emirates has partnered with Extime in Paris Charles de Gaulle airport to offer premium travellers a new dedicated lounge in Terminal 1.

It is one of the few carriers to have an exclusive space in Terminal 1 for its customers.

The private lounge has a total of 155 seats spread across an indoor and outdoor space. It will serve, on average, 190 customers a day.

The dedicated lounge will facilitate Emirates customers until flight operations move to the under-renovation Terminal 2 in July 2024, and a newly constructed Emirates Lounge opens.

F&B options at the new lounge will be available from 6am-9.30pm spanning breakfast, lunch and dinner. On offer are French favourites such as Croque-monsieur, crêpes and French financier, as well as international dishes of salmon tikka, fish tajin, butter chicken and beef stroganoff.

With a bright and airy bistro feel to it, the lounge features wood and leather accents, set against a backdrop of white tones, green topiary and contemporary light fixtures. The lounge also features showers and offers complimentary wifi. It is  also fully accessible to people with reduced mobility.

Emirates first began flying to Paris Charles de Gaulle in 1992, and the 32nd anniversary of the Dubai-Paris route takes place this month.

In December, Paris Charles de Gaulle airport reopened its Terminal 1 after almost three years of closure. The terminal closed on March 30, 2020, due to the pandemic, with operator Aéroports de Paris (ADP) using the time to carry out a €250 million refurbishment. The renovations saw the creation of a 36,000 sqm junction building as well as new features within the central lobby to improve the passenger experience.

The aim of the entire renovation project is allow the airport to accommodate up to 80 million passengers per year.

Earlier this year, Qatar Airways too reopened its Premium lounge at Paris CDG airport. That facility is also located within Terminal 1, and offers more than 1,000 sqm of space, with a capacity for over 200 guests.
