Japan Airlines (JAL) is upgrading its current free in-flight wifi offering on its domestic flights, upping its current 15 minutes of free in-flight internet connectivity to now encompass the duration of the flight.

The free in-flight wifi offering is part of a campaign that JAL will be running between February 1 and August 31 this year for all JAL Sky Next domestic aircraft equipped with in-flight wifi systems. However, international aircraft equipped with in-flight wifi systems that are flying on domestic routes will not be included in the campaign.

During this period, no fee or time limitations will be imposed on travellers connecting to the airline’s in-flight wifi services while flying domestic routes.

The campaign follows JAL’s recent expansion of its wifi video programme services to its J-Air Embraer E190 aircraft, enabling travellers to access sports and other entertainment using their own devices. These along with music, animation and gourmet programmes are also available as part of the carrier’s in-flight video programming on its JAL Sky Next aircraft.

Access to the complimentary wifi services will be available from five minutes after takeoff to five minutes prior to landing. Passengers can access the service by selecting the “Free Flight Pass” button at the top of the portal page when they connect to the wifi service.
