Cathay Pacific celebrates Düsseldorf launch

Cathay Pacific (CX) has celebrated the launch of its first flight from Hong Kong to Düsseldorf. The new route, first announced in February, is part of the carrier’s ongoing expansion in Europe. It is also CX’s second destination in Germany, after Frankfurt. CX376 departs Düsseldorf with a traditional water canon salute Flight CX375 departs Hong Kong at 0050 every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, arriving in Düsseldorf at 0715. The return service on flight CX376 takes off from the Rhine city at 1320 and touch back down in Hong Kong at 0635 the following day. Passengers should also note that there is a slight difference between the route’s summer and winter schedule. Due to trade winds, the Hong Kong–Düsseldorf leg during the summer will arrive earlier at 0640. The Düsseldorf–Hong Kong flight will touch down later at 0655, as compared to the winter flights. Officiating guests include CX Country Manager Germany and Eastern Europe, Tony Sham, Mayor of Düsseldorf, Thomas Geisel as well as Düsseldorf Airport’s Managing director Ludger Dohm and chairman, Gerhard Schröder. Flights are operated by the B777-300ER that sports a four-class configuration, with six seats in first, 53 in business, 34 in premium economy, and 182 in economy.
