W London launches teaser short film

As Starwood’s W Hotels brand gears up to debut in Leicester Square early next year, the group has produced a short film starring Helena Christensen, with the first glimpses of the hotel’s interiors.
According to W Hotels, Away We Stay is “a romantic tale of love, life and the choices we make in the middle”, with a theme mirroring “the W Hotel London’s dual personality and its transition from formal day to informal night”.
Helena Christensen stars as a fictitious guest and photographer, alongside male model David Gandy, with a supporting cast including Tom Hollander (Pirates of the Caribbean, In the Loop) and Nick Moran (Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels).
In keeping with the key fashion theme of the W brand, the film features references to designers including Stella McCartney and Philip Treacy. The film was shot on location in Leicester Square, and contains one of the first glances of the W hotel, both in-room and of the views of London from the property.
W London is due to open in February 2011. The hotel is located on the corner of Leicester Square on the site of the former Swiss Centre, and will feature 192 rooms and ten two-level luxury residences.
