Stansted Express offers free airport lounge entry
Published: 18/07/2011 - Filed under: News »
The airport rail operator has joined Gatwick Express in offering first class customers free airport lounge entry courtesy of No.1 Traveller.
Last month Gatwick Express announced a partnership with No.1 Traveller, allowing passengers with first class return tickets entry into the group’s lounges at Gatwick’s North or South Terminals (see online news June 3).
Now Stansted Express has followed suit, with first class passengers gaining entry into either of the No.1 Traveller lounges at Stansted airport, along with fast-track security access.
Note that in the case of Stansted, the free entry does not include dishes from the kitchen or alcoholic drinks from the bar – guests will need to pay an extra £7.50 for these privileges. In-lounge facilities include free wifi internet access, and a choice of magazine and newspapers.
No.1 Traveller recently opened its latest lounge at Gatwick airport’s North Terminal – for a review click here. The group is also set to open its first lounge at Heathrow airport next month, and Business Traveller will be reporting from the launch event.

Sad! No alcoholic drinks and kitchen meals included!
This deminishes this great announcement by 90% in my opinion!

To get this offer you have to go to the customer services office which is hidden right at the end of the platform, show your ticket and the person in the office gives you a voucher. There didn't seem to be one for fast track security though as advertised on the website. The other little touch I thought would be nice was a free tea or coffee in first class! Also the lounge at Stansted is a route march so check out where it is and where your gate is before going!
