AA to join Cathay in business class seat choice?
Published: 27/01/2012 - Filed under: News »
Renderings of AA's new fully flat business class seat released today bear a striking resemblance to the premium offering launched by Cathay Pacific last year.
The rendering below is that released by American Airlines today (January 27), while the image underneath is that of the new Cathay Pacific business class seat, which was unveiled in December 2010 and launched on B777-300ER services last year (for a review click here).

Both images show a 1-2-1 layout, with similar triangular-shaped side tables, side cabinet and location of seat and IFE remote controls and reading light.
If AA has opted for the same seat as fellow Oneworld carrier Cathay, passengers can expect a fully-flat bed measuring 82 inches.
The US carrier is to take delivery of ten B777-300ERs in 2012 and 2013, with the new business class offering set to debut on its Sao Paulo route later this year, followed by flights to London.

Yes, this is indeed the Sicma Cirrus seat, chosen by Cathay and US Airways on their A330.
The one bought by American I believe is marketed by Weber (sister company of Sicma).
