Royal Jordanian to begin flights to Guangzhou

22 Feb 2016 by Clement Huang

Royal Jordanian will launch a new service three times a week between Amman and Guangzhou on March 21.

Guangzhou will be the carrier’s second Chinese destination after Hong Kong, and its fifth in Asia – other destinations are Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta.

The new service is a strategic move by the airline in its efforts to expand its route network in profitable markets. As one of the largest cities in China, Guangzhou sees a sizeable number of travellers every year. Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport was the second busiest airport in the country last year, welcoming over 55 million passengers.

Flights to Guangzhou, which will be served by the B787 and A330, will operate every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Flight RJ180 will depart Amman at 0210 and arrive in Bangkok at 1555. Following a short layover, the service will depart the Thai capital at 1655 and arrive in Guangzhou at 2025. The return service will see flight RJ181 depart Guangzhou at 2205 and arrive in Bangkok at 2355. The flight will then take off again at 0115 the next day, to touch back down in Amman at 0530.

The upcoming service is now available for booking on the Royal Jordanian website, as well as through any of the company’s sales offices worldwide.
