Emirates ramps up Seattle capacity

13 Jul 2015 by Clement Huang

Emirates has almost doubled capacity on its service to Seattle by launching a second daily flight to the US city.

The new B777-200LR service operates as EK227 for the away leg, departing Dubai at 0315 and arriving in Seattle at 0655. The return flight, EK228 takes off again from Seattle at 0940 and touches back down in Dubai at 1055 the following day.

The increased capacity brings the total number of seats available to 4,340 per week, making Seattle the second largest US market for Emirates, beaten only by New York JFK.

The B777-200LR features eight suites in first, 42 lie-flat seats in business, and 216 in economy. In addition to the usual first/business perks, premium passengers will be able to enjoy Emirates’ chauffeur service for flights originating from both Dubai and Seattle.

Emirates has steadily grown its presence in the US, and maintains a close partnership with Alaska Airlines. This allows passengers of the Gulf carrier to easily connect towards domestic destinations outside of its reach.

As an added bonus, members of Emirates’ Skywards and Alaska Airlines’ Mileage Plan frequent flyer programs are also able to earn and redeem miles for travel on either carrier.
