Cathay Pacific will launch a four-times weekly service to Dusseldorf on September 1.
The city will be the Hong Kong-based airline's second destination in Germany, after Frankfurt.
Cathay will roster a B777-300ER — including premium economy, which the carrier is axeing elsewhere (see news, January 27) — on the route, which will operate on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
Outbound service CX375 will depart Hong Kong at 0050 and land in Dusseldorf at 0715 local time. Return service CX376 will take-off from Dusseldorf at 1320 and arrive in Hong Kong at 0635 the next day.
CEO Ivan Chu said: "We are very pleased to further expand our European network by launching this new Dusseldorf service, which will help to meet the rising demand for business and leisure travel between Germany and Hong Kong.
"This latest destination launch also underscores Cathay Pacific's ongoing commitment to building Hong Kong's position as one of the world's great international aviation hubs."
In December, Cathay launched a direct service between Hong Kong and Manchester (see news, December 8).
