10 Apr 2009 by Mark Caswell

Dubai-based carrier Emirates will commence a three-times weekly service to Angola this autumn.

The airline will begin flights from Dubai to Angola’s capital Luanda on August 2, using A330-200 aircraft configured with 237 seats in three classes. The route will be Emirates’ 17th destination within Africa, and the second to be announced this year, with flights to Durban also due to be added from October 1.

Flight EK791 will depart Dubai on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays at 1050, arriving into Fevereiro International airport at 1550. The return leg EK792 will leave Luanda at 1800, landing back in Dubai at 0500 the following day.

British Airways currently offers the only direct service from the UK to Angola, with one flight per week departing on Fridays, while South African Airways offers flights connecting in Johannesburg.
