Marriott International has announced its first Autograph Collection hotel in South Korea.
Seoul's The Plaza, currently an Hanwha Hotels & Resorts property, will join the boutique brand in early 2016.
The 410-room hotel is located in the centre of the capital, across from City Hall and Seoul Plaza.
Facilities include three restaurants, specialising in Chinese, Japanese and Italian cuisine; nine banquet halls that can accommodate up to 600 people, including the 450-capacity Grand Ballroom and Xystum House on the top floor, which can be customised for private events; and free wired and wireless internet access.
Craig S Smith, president and managing director of Marriott International, Asia-Pacific, said: "Autograph Collection is a one-of-a-kind ensemble of independent hotels that we are fast expanding in Asia.
"The Plaza, with its rich heritage and special location as well as its quality service, will enable travelers to experience the charm of the city in style, truly fitting the brand promise of the Autograph Collection."
Marriott and Hanwha Hotels & Resorts signed a contract for their strategic alliance in running the hotel last week.
Marriott opened an Autograph Collection hotel in Dresden during the summer (see news, July 14).
