Cityjet has announced a new codeshare agreement with Jersey-based Blue Islands.
The partnership will allow passengers to take daily return trips from Jersey to European cities including Amsterdam and Paris, and will launch “early next year”, with the exact date being announced in the next few weeks as schedules are finalised.
The news follows Blue Islands’ decision to cease its alternate day direct flights from Jersey to Amsterdam and Paris on January 5.
Blue Islands will also add an additional lunchtime service to London City, offering 25,000 extra seats per year, representing a 45 per cent increase in capacity. The flight will depart Jersey at 1300, with the return leg leaving LCY at 1440.
The carrier operates a fleet of Jetstream and ATR turboprop aircraft, serving routes within the Channel Islands and to the UK and Europe.
