Intercontinental Hotels Group has announced it will open a Holiday Inn in southern Poland in 2015.
The 160-room Holiday Inn Dabrowa Gornicza Katowice will be located in the greater Katowice area, close to exhibition centre Expo Silesia.
IHG expects the hotel to mainly attract MICE travellers frequenting the exhibition hall.
Peter Vermeer, IHG's director of development Eastern and Central Europe, said: "The Holiday Inn brand is continuing on its journey of success across Europe as it appeals to both owners and investors who often have very different goals commercially.
"This latest signing in Poland demonstrates the brand's ability and agility to pioneer new markets across Europe."
IHG has signed a franchise agreement with Hotel Commercial Investment to open the property.
The firm is currently offering members of its loyalty scheme a 10 per cent discount when booking a room online (see news, January 9).
