VistaroParticipantWith Qatar joining Oneworld which do you think is the best lounge for a BAEC GGL member? I’ve not been through Doha for quite some time and don’t know which one is better, the business lounge in the premium terminal (I’m told that I won’t get access to the First Lounge in the premium terminal) or the First Lounge in the main terminal, I’ve asked both BA and Qatar but can’t get any clarity on the differences.

If you have bought J or F, you’ll get acces to the J or F lounge in the premium terminal.
If you have bought Y, you’ll get access to the Oryx lounge in the main terminal.
Qatar do not operate the same way as BA and do not give premium terminal access on status levels, just on the class of travel purchased.
By the way, despite the bad rep, the Oryx lounge is okay and is used by a lot of airlines (including BA) who fly from the main terminal.
In summary, as a BA GGL travelling Y you would get the Oryx lounge on BA and that’s what you’ll get on QR, if you travel in Y.

You will get the business lounge as your onwards leg is J class
BA gold means nothing, even QR platinum which I have does not even get you in the F lounge when travelling J19 Jan 2014

LuganoPirateParticipantMrs. LP wonders the same. She thinks if you arrive in F and are continuing in J because there is no F on that leg, then you will be able to use the F lounge.
Please let us know Rodders and enjoy your flight.

IstanbulWarriorParticipantI find it so incredibly easy to use the F lounge when travelling J that it’s a non-issue. In the 10+ times I have transited through Doha n the past 12 months, only once have I been caught out and asked to move across to the J lounge.

IstanbulWarriorParticipantVistaro, I usually go to the business centre and print off an email or two, then walk into the F lounge.
